Kitchen knives.

Knives are beautiful and versatile tools for everyday use. Knives are both tough and harsh but also so delicate and refined. I love all the knowledge that lays behind the art of knife making. Knives are made in all shapes and sizes and various functions, but they are all meant for utility.

With my love for knives and the admiration of knife making, I set off to create my own collection of kitchen knives. In a workshop in Oslo I forged these chefs knives from springsteel.

To me, they will forever have their origin there. The rest of the making has been done in Eindhoven, sanding, polishing, sharpening of the blade, fitting and filing a brass piece on the tang and sanding down the handle. The handle is wengé wood, beautiful tropical and dense wood I scavenged from a family’s attic. The paring knife consists of solely spring metal, the handle is forged round. It was made while practicing forging.

I love these knives for their poetry, the story that I was part of.
