Chopping block.
Looking for a good way to have a sturdy surface for woodcarving, I made this birch chopping block. The wood is birch, foraged from Sweden. The shape of these pieces of wood determined the dimensions and shape. using a saw and axe the legs are carved out to create a sturdy and strong base. It was made to chop pieces of wood for rough shaping like the cutting the adze handle from a branch or to split wood with the froe.
Material: Birch.
Tools used: Japanese saw, chisel, hammer, axe.
