Adze No.1.
This tool’s journey started in Oslo where the blade was forged as a result of making and being in the moment. Originally an adze was used to dig out canoes from a log, but is now also widely used for carving purposes of all sorts of objects. The handle came from a branch from a tree in Lonashult, Sweden, it has been dried and carved to fit the blade and my hands.
Material: Carbon steel, pine, thread.
Tools used: Japanese saw, block plane, chisel, hammer, axe, spoke shave, anvil, forge, hammers, knife.
